Niema's native clime is Philadelphia, PA, but she has been a native since relocating to Los Angeles County's sunny California since 1983.

Developing an early love for crochet, I afterwards learned knit and woven processes and began to create my own designs, which were sold in Philladelphia local stores. | With a background in Literacy, Niema (pronounced Nigh-ee'-ma) wrote Poetry, joined poet and artistic groups, and went on to speak and record excerpts from her first as-yet completed and published book, SILVER RAIN on local college and 'underground' radio stations. Now published and available on major book websites, Niema has started follow-up books in both Poetry and Fiction. |

I finally found my niche when I made a crocheted beanie for a boyfriend; he showed it off to his friends who also wanted a beanie made for them, and the rest is history. After hats, I 'graduated' to scarves to pair with hats and found a local store to place my goods which were bought by the proprietor. I went on to discover knitting and weaving, but my first love will always be crochet. I find that crochet keeps its form without sagging or stretching, and is more versatile than knitting or woven items. There are a wide range of items which can be crocheted that cannot be made in these other two mediums.
 
November 20, 2014:
Early breakfast call: fave eatery spot next to my laptop, of course!! Egg and cheese omelet on toasted bagel, with sliced vine tomatoes, ‘Constant Comment’ tea, water (for hydration), and a small shot of red wine to contain any errant cholesterol buildup!!
